Tonight, I listened to a tribute to Joey Ramone for the billionth time on "The Ongoing History of New Music".

I was -3 Years old when they played there first show in '74. However, their influence was felt in all of the music I grew up with. The Beastie Boys Green Day, Gob and Blink 182 and many others all owe a piece of their success to the Ramones. The influence of the band is still felt today with any of the pop-punk-rock stuff that's clogging the radio. While I'm not sure if Avril has ever visited Rockaway Beach, I'm pretty sure her stylist has.

Sometime In the early 90's. I had the pleasure of seeing the Ramones open up for White Zombie @ Copps Coliseum in Hamilton, On. I don't remeber much of the show except the trademark Ramones "1-2-3-4..". However, the show for me set in concrete the legend that is the Ramones.

Ramones, Rock and Roll misses you.

Do You Remember Rock 'n' Roll Radio?
By The Ramones

Do you remember Hullabaloo ,
Upbeat , Shindig and Ed Sullivan too?
Do you remember rock 'n' roll radio?
Do you remember rock 'n' roll radio?

Do you remember Murray the K ,
Alan Freed , and high energy?
It's the end , the end of the 70's.
It's the end , the end of the century.

Do you remember lying bed
With your covers pulled up over your head?
Radio playin' so no one can see
We need change , we need it fast
Before rock's just part of the past
'Cause lately it all sounds the same to me

Oh-oh
Will you remember Jarry Lee , John Lennon ,
T-Rex and Ol' Moulty?
It's the end , the end of the 70's.
It's the end , the end of the century.
