I remember my days of youth. Everytime I hear the song "Tommorow" by Silverchair, I think of Spencer Smith park, and the friday night concert series at the Gaziebo.. All of us skids, skaters freaks, and BBS G33k5 piling down there to catch whatever was cool at the time.. Maybe if the Band was good enough, pick up the tape, so on the way home, I could play in in the mighty tempo (When I was old enough to drive).. Bands like Col Chunk.. Trunk (Punk as Fuck). I think even the Rainbow Butt Monkeys, AKA Finger11 might of did a show.. I remember everybody (But me) being stoned.. I think they used to smoke up, and mess around in the bushes behind that crap-ass motel. Before I moved to BC, I was wondering around down there. I noticed that they had cut down all the bushes and the trees in the corner there.. I wondered where the kids were going to smoke up now. Acid, Pot, Shrooms, Whatever the hell they were on.. Before I drove, sometimes we would wonder around the streets after the show.. A pack of ever chaning faces, just wondering around downtown, mostly high.. I usually wondered around to waste time, and watch the druggies.. It was sort of fun watching everybody trippin' out and then coming down.. As the 'clean kid-geek-tagalong It was always my role to babysit them while they were tripping out. Usually somebody had a bad trip.. I remember wondering around downtown Burlington looking for a place to buy Orange Juice.. Somebody had started a rumor that it would bring you down from a bad trip.. I have no idea if it was true, but it did shut them up. Even though it was sort of friday tradition, It allways sucked for me, as I usually had to open at McDonalds the next day. I had alot of street cred for that "Sorry guys, i gotta go home, so i can wake up tommorow and go to work at Mcdonalds".. Not exactly the rock'n'roll job of

Anyhow, the songs that defined this time, Silverchair's 'tommorow'.. I was never a big Silverchair fan, but they defined the time well. They seemed to be young, confused and like to peform Pearl Jam ripoffs, much like the bands in Burlington.

..Rembering the summers of the past reminds me how old I am. Fuck I'm old.. I'm going to ponder what musically defined this summer. I'll post it soon.

When I first found blogs from soldiers from around the world, I was quite surprised that would fly, especially in an operational theater. For the last month, I've been reading CBFTW's "My War" blog.. Much to my disappointment, it looks like he's no longer allowed to blog. However, I fully understand why.. The American soldier blog, pointed me towards the following NPR Article. While I very much enjoyed his postings, I fully understand where his chain is coming from..

Fun, Fun, Fun... I guess all this rain we have been getting is pay back for the rest of the summer.. I'm pretty sure it has rained everyday for the last week.

Anyho, after getting mildly screwed by Bell Mobility, I dejectedly it was time to get a land line via Vonage Canada. I signed up for the $19.99 package. 500 mins of anytime calling in north America. All incoming calls free. Coool. So far, I have to say I'm very impressed. The representative I talked to when I signed up was decent. However, I think she should of giving me a Hamilton # instead of Vancouver #, when I told her of my situation. Other then that She answered all my basic questions, and accurately setup my account. The delivery of the Motorola digital phone adapter (DPA) was amazing. I received it Tuesday after ordering it last Wednesday night. The adapter included clear and concise basic installation information. It included both single PC and multi PC setups, However I disagree with some of the installation instructions.. I was also disappointed that the instructions made no mention of Universal Plug and Play(UPnP). However, ignoring the instructions, I plugged the DPA into my existing Microsoft MN-700 Gateway/Router, and plugged my phone into it (A very sexy, yet particle Panasonic KX-TG2313). I did no configuration of either device.. (A stupid person test).. To my delight, it worked wonderfully. So far the voice quality is excellent, and I appreciate the straight forward Vonage Dashboard, where I can even listen to my voicemail online. Cool. Even More cool, you can have your voicemail emailed to you. Overall, after 7 days since signing up.. The next test is the billing date.. Hopefully there will be no "hidden surprises" like so many other phone plans.

I have some pictures from rainy day a visit to Mount Baker that Stacey and I did earlier this week. I'll post them sometime soon..

Two Posts in a day! Holly crap. I must be bored or something -Wait, I am bored, and yes I have been surfing the net most of the day.. However, here is a good one.. The new Tegan and Sara "so jealous" is out 14 Sept 04.. "If It Was You was You", their last disk was my one of my favorite of 2002. I'm still listening to it on average once a month... Anyhow, there is a couple 56k Mp3's on the teaser site

I know I should have a lot more to talk about, but bah, I'm lazy. Anyhow, In the realm of Blogs, I stumbled across this first on /. and then on the blogger home page. I'm sure as the bloggin craze continues there will be a lot more of this. Candie (Notice, with an IE, and not a "Y") and the fine Goodyear family bring us a first hand look at the Hurricane Charley, and it's after effects. However, for some reason, I get the pictures of some backwoods Americans, shacked up in their trailer parks, with their 51' plasma TV's, Jerry Springer DVD's, portable generators, cellphones, shotguns secured, Camcorders ready waiting for the "big one" and praying to the good lord. Yee haw!!

I guess I shouldn't be so critical, I do live in Abbotsford.. Time to get back reading the verses and shining ma shotgun.
